A person of 1.70 m and measures 1m away from a 3m tall lamppost … how long is your shadow?
Hey, I have to answer this question in physics class, but the teacher did not have time to help us, so she told us to wear our textbook. But I can not find it. Any help?
Use triangles similar proportions. If you draw a picture, you can see that the height of the person and the lighthouse are the corresponding sides. In addition, we can adjust the length of its shadow as x. So the distance from the tip of the lamp shade to be x 1 meter, because the person is standing three feet away from the lamp. Therefore: 1.7m/3m = x / (1 + X) only resolve this and you (hopefully) get the answer.
