Need to replace an aging big-screen TV. see if this solution makes sense.?
My wife watches too much television, especially now with a broken leg. I want to upgrade to a projector and 100 "screen. When I built my house, I had a home theater to register, with no windows and seats spectators. The term of a Dlp Projector lamp is 2000 hours. My wife is burned through in 2001 hours. I could put a TV 32 "LCD on the wall and install a power-down screen for the projector. In this way, you could see on the LCD screen of Oprah and movies on the projector. Do you see any problems with this before you go out and drop $ 5K on this?
Makes sense to me, though the LCD TV size will depend on how she feels thereof. In other words, If it's been more than 10-15 feet away, and the LCD TV is too small, she can use the projector anyway, and then I fell the $ $ in the LCD TV shrink. "in my humble opinion, get a cheap plasma (Dell, HP or Panasonic) – maybe 43-50 inches. You can probably do this $ 2-2.5K. PS: Do not really get a good plasma (Pioneer) or you may start to hate your projector: -)
