An essential basis in offices and businesses now, projectors have become not only technologically advanced but also more convenient with the added utility.
The projectors were first projectors. The projector was very basic and designed brand to display the image and written text on a transparency in expanded form on a screen or a wall. The presentations were handwritten or laser printed on transparency (which usually denotes a slide), which was replaced manually as they proceeded to the presentation. First used during World War II operations military planning, OHPs soon became a popular device in offices, institutions, universities, etc.
As technology advanced, overhead projectors evolved into digital projectors. A digital projector is able to show the live computer screen on a wall or screen. This revolutionized the way presentations corporate or even given training institutions communicated.
Now projector technology in digital projectors have become more advanced and digital have become more feature rich and power packed with what used to be. When it comes to technology, digital projectors can be classified into two categories – projectors that uses an LCD panel of primary colors (red, blue and green). This version is slightly higher in the evolution of the digital projector. The light color for each pixel is transmitted as the image on the computer screen. This image, once captured from the computer is projected onto a screen or wall. The screen can adjust the brightness, contrast and sharpness control.
A relatively new technology in digital projectors , Digital Light Processing (DLP) is a breakthrough in digital projectors. An innovation-owned company based in Texas, Texas Instruments, DLP uses small mirrors instead of the panel with each mirror represents a pixel. There are color filters red, blue and green color adjustment in the projected image. The result is a modulated color image appears as good as the natural color to human eyes. DLP projectors are light in weight, have better contrast and better sharpness.
Then there are the projectors that are wireless, can connect directly to the Internet and have added features like zoom lens.
Not only presentations, but projectors everything can project digital photos to videos to movies. Apart from the photo of digital projectors can also control the audio to give you a complete package and enrich the experience of watching your movie. Some of the leading brands in India projectors – Acer, Benq, Canon, Dell, Epson, Hitachi, HP, InFocus, NEC, Optoma, Panasonic, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, Viewsonic, including others. The price of these projectors ranges from INR 50,000 – 2,50,000 depending on progress in technology.
