What is better to buy an LCD or Plasma TV? Confused?
Plasma, TV has vivid colors, fast and high refresh contrast? Plasma TVs are the TVs that mostly likely catch your eyes as you walk down the aisle in your local Best Buy. Plasma TVs have colors exceptionally bright, distinct and vibrant.
But like most good things in life there is a downside to consider. Plasma TVs have high consumption energy and a relatively short shelf life. But while it may be the purchase of a new type of high technology television once again in the future. After have all the latest in television technology has become an essential status symbol in many if not most middle-class American homes. If I just wanted a television that could well come to the Wal-Mart or Costco and bought a very acceptable picture older CRT TV at very low cost.
Tests have shown that the ability of a plasma screen to show true black decreases by 13% during the first four weeks. Over a period of a few years this could show the black and light gray in the image.
The high energy consumption can not be upset if you do not mind paying a little more for your electricity bill, but the real problem as in laptops is the heat generated and the amount of damage to these electronic devices and the display of your Plasma TV new and very expensive by the heat.
.
The heat comes from the millions of tiny fluorescent tubes in a heavy glass substrate that produces the image. This design is also part of the question of longevity. The high heat produced in a small area burned matches ahead of the match in a traditional CRT. And in all that tied together, this can also result in image burn, especially on channels that show the logo continuously in the lower right corner.
LCD TVs are much less expensive than plasma, but also tend not to have images that are as sharp or bright. The other disadvantage is that the LCD pixels are relatively slow to change state. fast moving objects, like a hockey puck or a baseball bat could get blurred show more clearly where in a plasma or CRT quality.
Projection TVs are another option. Projection TV technology now produces much sharper, more pictures vivid than in previous years, with deep blacks that rival the CRT, and beat most plasma and LCD. This is the way forward for screen sizes 50 inches or more.
The main drawback to any of the projection technology is the light that serves as a source of light. The typical metal halide projector lamp only lasts from 1000 to 2000 hours and can cost several hundred dollars to replace. Longer life called ultra-performance lamps high (UHP) have flooded the market that use mercury vapor instead of argon and have life expectancies ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 hours.
Most consumers to use their televisions on an average of 1,000 hours per year. This means that if the bulb is in the range of $ 300 – $ 500 cost of "running the TV projection "in a rough guide to 1000 hours of use per bulb is several hundred dollars a year. The longevity of the bulb projections are often not best configuration of non-ordinary scenarios in which the homeowner can even affect ventilation heat accidentally by TV and placement furniture chosen by the wife to appear instead of the electronic longevity.
Not so conceptually projection TV bulbs seems to be very light bulbs property by the manufacturer of projection TV. Lamps for Sony projection TVs are manufactured and distributed only by Sony. You can find a cheaper source that Hitachi. However, it is a matter of opinion. Sony bulbs, though more expensive are much more popular and easy to find on eBay – even used light bulbs. But Projection TV bulbs are very fragile and can not survive the posting.
Like LCD, manufacturers are moving toward the high-intensity LED technology to replace the lamps and get life measured in years. Of course, technology is not cheap, but prices should fall as they become more available in the coming years.
On the horizon we can expect tound inthe following new type of high-tech TVs SED. What is SED?
SED is the screen surface conduction electron emitter. These are to come on the market in about 2008/2009. Japan probably begin to see that the end of 2007. It is a flat panel display, like LCD screens now, but that have similar characteristics to that of CRT for contrast and image quality. This comes from the base of the design: each pixel is basically a small CRT. It uses less power than plasma, since it is easier to generate an electron beam (like a CRT does) than it is to excite photons in a gas (such as plasma screen does).
No device SED TV production available. In addition there are no data yet for the operation of other factors or reliability.
In the end, enjoy your purchase. You can also buy a plasma TV now, pay it off, I confess I really enjoyed the plasma TV and yet again the purchase of new SED TV home for better advanced image and as a status symbol for your home. It never ends.
