When it comes to LCD projectors, if you leave them on or off to preserve the life of the bulb?

I work for an elementary school district as a technical team. We have recently installed LCD projectors in all classrooms. A teacher asked me a question quite good … She uses every day and wanted LCD projector know the best way to preserve the life of the projector / bulb …. is leaving all day (about one hour school day 7) or periodically turn off (for breaks, lunch) better for the projector / bulb? My initial thought is to turn off the projector when not going to be used for a long period of time, but it is more harmful the projector cycle (heat and cooling) 3 times in a 7 hour period or is it more harmful to leave in (and stay warm) for the entire 7 hours?

Turn it on to start the day, turn it off when finished for the day. 'Nuff said.
