Establish a home theater movie projector – Part 1
These days, many people are setting up a home theater system with a projector instead of a TV because the quality you get is a bargain. If you buy a projector, it will give you a diagonal screen size of at least "more than 84 inches at a price of $ 800 – $ 2,000, if not more. If you go for a plasma TV 60-70 inches, which will cost not less than $ 7,000 – $ 8,000. And portable projectors, not heavy (5-10 pounds) and easy to use and install. You just need a room dedicated to home theater.
Choose from LCD and DLP projectors. DLP offers better image quality but is more expensive than LCD. These days, the quality gap between the two has been reduced considerably. LCD projectors are great too, so do not worry. Go to a projector with a minimum of 1600 lumens. This is the brightness of the lamp. If you see a film in a completely dark room, 1200 lumens also work well. But if they see a certain amount of light / brightness, needs at least 1600-2000 lumens, more is better. Go for a resolution of at least 720p. A resolution of 1080p is great, but these projectors are very expensive. But if you have dollars, do not think twice. For XGA resolutions at least 1024×768 is a necessity.
See the lamp life. Make sure it is at least 2000 hours in normal mode and 3000 hours in power saving mode or quiet. The lamps are replacement parts, need every 2 years or so. And they are expensive. So if you have to choose between two projectors that offers a lamp life of 1000 hours more, go for that one. Relationship Contrast black will decide how the color black as compared with whites. For a 600:1 contrast ratio means that black will be 600 times more black white levels. Decide how deep the black will be on your screen. The darker the better. Therefore, the higher the contrast ratio, better output on the screen. Aspect ratio: Go to an aspect ratio of 16:9, as it is the de facto standard for games, DVD movies nowadays. You can view your old television tapes that are in 4:3 through most projectors are present because the configuration to adjust the screen size accordingly.
