Getting the most out of your old projector

As that the U.S. economy continues its slow, no doubt, we are all experiencing budget cuts in all facets of our lives. Now more than ever, is important to reign in unnecessary spending. However, life goes on and somehow we must manage to make the necessary purchases or get the most out of what already have.
For example, how to go about getting another year using a projector that can be in desperate need of retirement? There are several ways to go about this, but it comes down to maximize the total dynamic range of the environment. What is total dynamic range of the environment? It is the "contrast ratio real world "made in a particular location. The highest contrast ratio produces more dynamic images.
Before you get too excited because their relationship Projector 2,000:1 contrast is on, remember: contrast ratio is essentially the difference between white and black on a screen. More The higher the contrast ratio, brightness and resolution received more than perceived. However, any ambient light in a particular location will dramatically affect the environment total dynamic range of an image that is displayed. In other words, only the control of ambient light in the sanctuary can give your older projector a new lease on life.
If you are experiencing problems of perception of brightness and the installation of black tones in the sanctuary is not an option, one of the least expensive solutions is to re-examine the array of lighting you are using on stage. In fact, you could save some money by simply analyzing its light output. Are all stage lighting necessary and serve a purpose or effect? Or maybe some of the lights are redirected or off? It is well directed ray parasitic stage may shed light on projection screens, therefore reduce the overall appearance of projected contents.
Again, contrast ratio is basically the difference between black and white. All the light diffuse to reach the projection screen projectors become strong black to gray, which negatively affects the contrast ratio. To determine the amount and source of stray light hitting the projection screen, simply turn on the projector and all the lights that are used during a service. Then place a piece of cardboard front of the screen and see which direction the shadows on the screen will appear. It is possible to dramatically improve the contrast of an image displayed simply by redirecting lights and control of any other ambient light.
Another cost saving measure that will create a better viewing experience is to install a new lamp in your projector . Have you checked how many hours the projector lamp (s) lately? Assuming you purchased a projector that sends the appropriate lumens on the screen that is installed in the sanctuary, most projectors require a new lamp in the 1500 – 2000 hours points. If your church is using the spotlight 20 hours a week, equivalent to about 1 ½ to 2 years of use. When a lamp has been a lot of hours of operation, it is likely that only 50% output of their original light. In addition, if the projector is underpowered for the size of the screen in the sanctuary, you may need to change the bulb more often. The increase production of light from a new lamp can rekindle memories of your projector when it was new.
Creating a better image in a decrease in budget may also come from a simple change of content presentation. Using a lighter background, or more contrasting background for the projected images will the display easy to see and read. The readability is correlated directly with the previously discussed perceived brightness and contrast.
Another good idea is to paint the area around display a black or dark variety add a border around the screen. This gives your brain a dark reference point when looking at the black levels on the content projected. This small detail can help the viewer's brain perceives and therefore more contrast, more brightness and resolution.
