How to create a digital projections DVision 1080p projector to display an anamorphic picture?

I installed an anamorphic lens that moves in place by electronic means when necessary, but for some reason I can not get the DVD player to fill the screen when playing an anamorphic DVD with the anamorphic lens in place. However, when using a cable box for high definition source, the image with the anamorphic lens support, fill the screen. Is there any additional configuration necessary to make the DVD to fill the screen when using the anamorphic format?
