I have a ViewSonic PJ501 projector, "I can make an LED replacement lamp? Lamp: RLU-150-001?
I'm tired of shelling out $ 250-350 for a new replacement bulb every year or so. I know there are some really high power LED is there and I was wondering if there was a way to cheat the projector I have a good lamp there, and if I could wire up to about 5-10 of these LED lights which use some of the projector. Is there anyone out there that this is possible? Anyone have knowledge about how to do this, or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help!
Possible … maybe. Advisable … no. If you're really good with electronics and mechanics is possible that something will work, but even if they lick the physical and electrical issues, I suspect there will be problems to focus light correctly. In addition, the light "temperature" is very different than the original lamp and probably beyond correction range of the projector … resulting in poor color accuracy. If it were easy it would projector manufacturers have already introduced LED headlamps on.
