"Why are projector lamps so expensive?

I suppose our burned, and that is not working, and I thought it would be easy to replace, but it is going to cost us about $ 400 with a new lamp / bulb. Why are they so?

the lights are usually the mercury vapor lamps. very bright. They are basically a projector lamp.
